Liu leads “One True Loves,” the big screen adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s 2016 novel of the same name. But, somehow, this rom-com adaptation is more plastic than “Barbie.” ![]() Simu Liu may be starring in one of the biggest movies of 2023, but no one will mistake “ One True Loves” for that honorific. ![]() ![]() ![]() The Gendishen reds were no battle chargers, but they were fast. Gendishen was known for good horse breeding, and King Privoth, like his ancestors before him, had vowed to create a breed to rival the battle chargers of Ashai. Rezkin hoped they would not have to walk the entire distance. By foot, it would take the travelers half the day to reach the trade route and from there another three days to the nearest city. Rezkin’s party had come ashore midmorning, far from any settlement, sacrificing time for secrecy. While the Gendishen extremist views of the Purifiers did not adhere to the tenets of the Temple of the Maker, and, in fact, the collectiare openly condemned their actions, the people of Gendishen respected and honored anyone who served the Maker-so long as he or she was not a mage.
